Our Story
Hi, I’m Diana Bocciolatt, founder of Little Blue Thistle.
Before flowers, I spent more than a decade working in nonprofit development and event planning, creating meaningful experiences that brought people together and supported important causes. I loved building community - I just hadn’t yet discovered that flowers would become part of my story.
Little Blue Thistle grew from a season of slowing down. After a medical emergency involving my son, I stepped away from my full-time career to focus on my family. During that time, I ended up taking a part-time job at a local florist. What began as an unexpected opportunity quickly became a passion. I fell in love with flowers, the creativity they inspire, and the way flowers have a way of bringing beauty to ordinary days, comfort during difficult ones, and joy to every celebration.
That passion inspired me to start Little Blue Thistle, a mobile flower cart and floral studio. The name was inspired by my son’s love of the unique bloom - strong, wild, enduring, and blue. When I learned that thistle symbolizes protection, bravery, and resilience, it felt deeply aligned with our story.
Today, Little Blue Thistle offers bloom bars, workshops, pop-ups, and custom floral experiences throughout the Rochester and Finger Lakes region. Whether you’re celebrating a wedding, hosting a corporate event, gathering with friends, or simply treating yourself to fresh flowers, my hope is that every bouquet leaves you with a little more beauty than you had before.
When I’m not surrounded by flowers, you’ll usually find me chasing adventures with my husband, our two boys, and our rescue pup Kip.
