On October 14, Little Blue Thistle is partnering with The Wait With You Foundation to participate in Petal It Forward, a nationwide initiative created by the Society of American Florists.

The idea is simple: receive flowers, then pass that feeling along. Each recipient receives two bouquets—one to keep and one to share with someone else.

There’s research behind it, too. Studies highlighted by the Society of American Florists show that flowers can boost happiness, reduce stress, improve mood, and encourage connection. In fact, 80% of Americans say receiving flowers makes them happy, while 88% say the same about giving them.

Together, Little Blue Thistle and the Wait With You Foundation will bring flowers to staff and families connected to the NICU, PICU, and Antepartum units at Strong Memorial Hospital—offering a small moment of joy and connection during what can be incredibly difficult days.

It’s a simple gesture with the power to brighten a day, create connection, and pass a little kindness forward.
